We are quite similar to a ball of yarn. Our life, our story being a string of experiences, thoughts and feelings. Along the way we weave in beads of values, beliefs and decisions.
A ball of yarn can get tangled up as it starts to extend itself and explore possibilities. When that happens, we don’t blame the yarn for that or give up on it. We gently and patiently untangle it. Similarly, there are times when we can get entangled in our own stories. Our thoughts and feelings can get all mixed up and give meaning to our experiences, which can knot us up tight. There are times we carry on along with these knots and there are times we give up in frustration. When impatient with ourselves, we tend to pull hard to untangle and may end up tightening the knot just a bit more. All we need, is a gentle hand to hold and support as we untangle. And it is okay to get that support.
Give yourself the permission to accept and address these tangles and knots. Give yourself the opportunity to untangle.
Be patient and figure out the tangles and the beads you’ve been carrying. You’ll know where the tangles exist and which beads to keep, replace or discard.
Once you do that, you gift yourself the joy of weaving something beautiful with the stronger, straightened out yarn and the new, well-chosen beads.
Go ahead and weave yourself beautiful With Inspiration.
